室内空气品质的研究人员通常把他们采样分析的所有室内有机气态物质称为TVOC,它是Volatile Organic Compound三个词第一个字母的缩写,各种被测量的VOC被总称为总挥发性有机物TVOC(Total Volatile Organic Compounds)。室内TVOC浓度通常在0.2mg/m3到2mg/m3之间,当室内VOC浓度在0.16mg/m3~0.3mg/m3时,对人体健康基本无害,但在装修中往往会超过这一指标,特别是在不当装修的情况下。防止TVOC的伤害,主要从源头抓起,杜绝非环保建材;其次,常通风换气,甚至加热烘烤,使TVOC释放加快;第四,装修后最好经检测确认TVOC不超标,并通风二到三个月后入住,如有条件通风半年入住最好;另外,在客厅或庭院可摆放月季、百合和猩猩木等,它们可吸收TVOC,但它们不宜放在卧室内。
